Madam Entropy, 2011 - ongoing (performance lectures)

Still from Scale Undone, 2024, at The Marsh, Berkeley, CA, USA

Madame Entropy is a mischievous persona who began participating, unannounced, in my public lectures about contemporary art in 2011. Intent on conveying knowledge about art that doesn’t fit into words, she began presenting her own performance lectures in 2022, on topics ranging from the collapse of a famous art school  (The Lecture That Changed My Life, 2022) to creativity and statistics (A Few Creative Numbers, 2023). Most of her performances are live format only, but Scale Undone has been documented in video and adapted for publication in the volume Visions of Scale, forthcoming from Bloomsbury.
